THE COMMANDING TONGUE POWDER

The Spiritual Secret of Speaking With Authority, Confidence, Wisdom and Influence

An African-Inspired Herbal Spiritual Direction for Public Speaking, Court Appearances, Debates, Interviews, Negotiations and Difficult Conversations

INTRODUCTION: YOUR TONGUE CAN BUILD OR DESTROY YOUR DESTINY

Some moments in life depend not only on what you know, but also on how you speak.

You may have the truth on your side, yet struggle to explain yourself. You may possess excellent knowledge, yet become nervous when standing before powerful people. You may enter a meeting, courtroom, interview or debate with strong arguments, only to discover that fear has taken control of your voice.

In many African spiritual philosophies, words are treated as more than ordinary sounds. They express intention, character, wisdom, and personal responsibility.

A person’s tongue can bring reconciliation or conflict, encourage others or discourage them, build trust or destroy relationships.

The real authority of speech comes from bringing the mind, tongue, character and intention into agreement.

This is the spiritual principle behind the practice we shall explore today: The Commanding Tongue Powder.

The preparation combines aromatic herbs and spices with symbolic spiritual actions intended to help a person enter important conversations with composure, courage and a clear purpose.

This particular formula is presented as a contemporary African-inspired practice. It should not be mistaken for a historically verified, universally practised Akan ritual.

It is also important to understand that no herbal powder has been scientifically demonstrated to control people’s decisions, guarantee victory in court or compel others to accept what someone says.

Nevertheless, a meaningful preparation ritual, combined with good speaking skills, can help someone develop confidence and a disciplined approach to communication.

1. THE FIVE INGREDIENTS AND THEIR SPIRITUAL MEANINGS

The original Commanding Powder formula contains five natural ingredients. Each represents a particular quality that the practitioner seeks to develop.

1. ALLIGATOR PEPPER — THE FIRE OF COURAGE

Botanical name: Aframomum melegueta

Ghanaian names: Efom Wisa, Fam Wisa

Quantity: 21 dried seeds

Alligator pepper, also called grains of paradise, is an aromatic West African spice with cultural and ceremonial associations in various communities.

In this preparation, the 21 seeds symbolise courage, determination and the willingness to speak when silence would be harmful.

Spiritual intention: May my voice remain steady even when I am challenged.

The number 21 serves as a ritual count in this particular formula, not as a scientifically established measure of spiritual power.

2. GUINEA PEPPER — THE STRENGTH OF EXPRESSION

Botanical name: Piper guineense

Ghanaian name: Esoro Wisa or Soro Wisa

Quantity: 7 dried pepper fruits, or approximately ¼ teaspoon of culinary-grade powder

Guinea pepper, commonly called West African black pepper or Ashanti pepper, is used as an aromatic spice.

For this preparation, it symbolises strength, alertness and the courage to express an important message.

Spiritual intention: May I speak firmly without becoming angry or disrespectful.

3. BASIL LEAVES — CLARITY OF THOUGHT

Botanical name: Ocimum basilicum when using sweet basil

Ghanaian name: Akoko Mesa or Akokomesa

Quantity: 1 teaspoon of dried, crumbled leaves

Basil is an aromatic culinary herb associated in various traditional and contemporary spiritual practices with peace, cleansing and positive intentions.

The name Akoko Mesa may be used for different basil types in local settings. Confirm the botanical species before preparation.

In this formula, basil represents a calm mind and clear communication.

Spiritual intention: May my thoughts be organised, and may my words carry understanding.

4. PREKESE — WISDOM AND PERSONAL DIGNITY

Botanical name: Tetrapleura tetraptera

Ghanaian name: Prekese

Quantity: ½ teaspoon of finely ground, dried culinary-grade fruit

Prekese is widely known in Ghana for its distinctive fragrance and culinary importance.

Within this contemporary spiritual preparation, it represents wisdom, maturity, dignity and thoughtful decision-making.

Spiritual intention: May wisdom guide my speech, and may my conduct earn respect.

5. WHITE CHALK — PURITY OF SPEECH

Quantity: One small piece of white chalk, reserved for symbolic use only

White chalk is used symbolically in certain African religious and ceremonial contexts, although its meanings and applications differ considerably between traditions.

For this practice, it represents sincerity, a clean conscience and the determination not to misuse one’s words.

Spiritual intention: May my words be truthful, responsible and free from harmful intentions.

Important: Do not add white chalk, kaolin clay or calabash chalk to anything placed in the mouth. Some chalk and clay products may contain harmful contaminants, including heavy metals. The chalk in this direction is kept separate and used only to mark a piece of paper.

2. HOW TO PREPARE THE COMMANDING POWDER

This version preserves the herbal symbolism while avoiding the risks associated with licking a concentrated pepper-and-chalk mixture or blowing powdered spices into the air.

Materials Required

  • 21 dried alligator pepper seeds
  • 7 dried Guinea pepper fruits
  • 1 teaspoon of dried culinary basil
  • ½ teaspoon of ground culinary prekese
  • One small piece of white chalk
  • A clean mortar and pestle
  • A clean, dry calabash or small container with a lid
  • One small piece of plain paper

STEP 1: PREPARE YOUR WORKING SPACE

Choose a clean, quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

Wash your hands and clean the mortar, pestle and storage container.

Place the ingredients in front of you.

Take three slow breaths and consider the particular occasion for which you are preparing yourself.

Is it a court appearance? A public debate? A job interview? A meeting with your employer? A conversation with someone who has repeatedly misunderstood you?

Identify your purpose clearly.

STEP 2: PREPARE THE ALLIGATOR PEPPER

Count out the 21 alligator pepper seeds.

Place them in a clean, dry mortar.

You may gently warm the seeds in a dry pan on low heat, but do not burn or char them.

Allow them to cool completely.

Grind them carefully into a coarse powder, avoiding airborne dust.

As you work, reflect on the following words:

“Let fear lose its hold upon my voice. Let courage rise within me. May I speak when I must speak, and remain silent when wisdom requires silence.”

STEP 3: ADD THE GUINEA PEPPER

Grind the seven Guinea pepper fruits separately.

Add the ground Guinea pepper to the alligator pepper.

Mix slowly.

As you combine them, say:

“May my words be firm without cruelty, powerful without arrogance and courageous without recklessness.”

STEP 4: ADD THE BASIL

Take the dried basil leaves and crumble them into small pieces.

Add one teaspoon to your herbal mixture.

Stir gently with a clean, dry spoon.

Say:

“Let confusion depart from my thoughts. Let my mind remain calm. Let every important word find its proper place.”

STEP 5: ADD THE PREKESE

Add the measured ground prekese.

Combine all four botanical ingredients thoroughly.

Their aromatic qualities become a sensory reminder of the commitment you are making to speak with clarity and dignity.

Say:

“May knowledge guide my tongue. May wisdom direct my answers. May my presence reflect preparation, self-respect and understanding.”

STEP 6: COMPLETE THE WHITE CHALK SYMBOL

Place the plain paper beside the calabash.

Using the white chalk, draw a single straight line on the paper.

The line symbolises a clear path for your message.

Below the line, write these three words:

TRUTH — WISDOM — COURAGE

Do not grind the chalk or put it in the herbal mixture.

Place the paper beneath your closed calabash for the remainder of the preparation.

STEP 7: CLOSE THE CALABASH

Transfer the herbal mixture into the clean, dry container.

Close the lid securely.

Hold the closed container between your hands.

Speak the following declaration with confidence:

“My mind shall not be ruled by fear. My voice shall not be defeated by confusion. My tongue shall serve truth, wisdom and justice. Wherever I am called to speak, may I find the courage to express myself with dignity. Let my words carry meaning, and let my conduct command respect.”

Take another three slow breaths.

Your symbolic preparation is now complete.

3. HOW TO USE THE COMMANDING POWDER BEFORE AN IMPORTANT OCCASION

The traditional-style intention behind this powder is to strengthen the practitioner’s sense of authority before speaking.

For safety, the recommended application is symbolic and non-ingestible.

First Direction: Before a Court Appearance

On the morning of your appearance:

  1. Place your closed calabash on a clean table.
  2. Put your written statement, case notes, or relevant documents beside it.
  3. Sit quietly for five minutes.
  4. Place one hand on your chest and say:“I enter this place with courage. I shall speak truthfully, listen carefully and answer with understanding. May fear not confuse my memory, and may justice be served.”
  5. Review the facts of your case in chronological order.
  6. Practise answering important questions clearly and briefly.
  7. Leave the powder safely at home and follow all courtroom rules.

Remember that proper evidence, truthful testimony and qualified legal representation are far more important to a court outcome than any spiritual preparation.

Second Direction: Before Public Speaking or A Debate

Approximately 15 minutes before your presentation:

  1. Sit with the closed calabash in front of you.
  2. Read aloud the main message you want your audience to understand.
  3. Take three slow, comfortable breaths.
  4. Speak the declaration:“My voice carries purpose. My mind carries knowledge. I shall speak with confidence, remain calm under questioning and answer with wisdom.”
  5. Practise your opening sentence three times.
  6. Check your speaking pace and posture.
  7. Enter the venue with your attention on communicating effectively, not on overpowering the audience.

The intended result is a calmer, more focused speaker who can present arguments without becoming overwhelmed by nervousness.

Third Direction: Before A Job Interview or Important Meeting

Place the sealed preparation beside your interview notes.

Say:

“May I remember what I have prepared. May I explain my abilities clearly. May I listen before answering. May my character and competence speak for themselves.”

Then review three specific examples of your experience or achievements.

These examples give you real material to discuss when interviewers ask difficult questions.

Fourth Direction: Before A Difficult Conversation

If you must speak with someone who has angered, offended or misunderstood you, prepare yourself privately.

Hold the closed container and say:

“I have the right to speak and the responsibility to listen. I shall not surrender my dignity to anger. May this conversation lead toward understanding, fairness and peaceful resolution.”

Before entering the conversation, decide what you need to communicate and what boundaries you will maintain.

If the person is threatening or abusive, prioritise safety rather than attempting a confrontation.

4. A SEVEN-DAY PRACTICE FOR DEVELOPING COMMANDING SPEECH

The following programme combines spiritual reflection with practical communication training.

Day One — Courage: Read your declaration and practise introducing yourself confidently for two minutes.

Day Two — Clarity: Explain an important subject in five simple sentences without unnecessary details.

Day Three — Wisdom: Practise listening to someone without interrupting, then summarise what they said.

Day Four — Authority: Practise maintaining a steady speaking pace, relaxed shoulders and a clear voice.

Day Five — Persuasion: Prepare one argument using a claim, supporting evidence and a logical conclusion.

Day Six — Emotional Control: Practise answering a challenging question calmly without insulting anyone.

Day Seven — Public Expression: Deliver a three-minute speech to a trusted person or record yourself speaking. Review your strengths and areas for improvement.

Each day, you may begin by placing the closed calabash beside your notes and repeating your preferred declaration.

The spiritual action provides a consistent personal ritual. The communication exercises develop actual skills that can be observed and improved.

5. THE THREE PRINCIPLES BEHIND COMMANDING SPEECH

Principle One: Words Must Have Direction

Speaking loudly is not the same as speaking powerfully.

A persuasive person understands the message they want to communicate.

Before any important speech, ask yourself:

What exactly do I want these people to understand when I finish speaking?

Principle Two: Authority Requires Self-Control

Anger sometimes creates the appearance of strength, but it can also destroy credibility.

A person who can remain composed under pressure may communicate more effectively than someone who responds to every challenge with hostility.

Principle Three: Influence Must Be Supported by Truth

A spiritually meaningful ritual should never become an excuse for dishonesty, intimidation or manipulation.

In a courtroom, tell the truth.

In an interview, present your genuine qualifications.

In a debate, support your arguments with evidence.

In relationships, communicate without coercion.

True authority is not the power to force others to agree with you. It is the ability to express yourself clearly while respecting the dignity and freedom of others.

small bag and place it in the household waste. Recycle or reuse the calabash after proper cleaning, and dispose of the symbolic paper respectfully.

7. WHAT RESULTS SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

The purpose of this spiritual practice is to prepare the person, not to control the people listening.

You may find that the combination of meaningful symbolism, repeated affirmations, and practical speech training helps you:

  • Approach important conversations with greater confidence.
  • Organise your thoughts before speaking.
  • Handle challenging questions with improved composure.
  • Present your arguments more clearly.
  • Reduce avoidable mistakes caused by poor preparation.
  • Develop a stronger awareness of your words and their consequences.

These are realistic goals to work toward, not guaranteed effects of the herbs.

Your actual results will depend on preparation, circumstances, communication skills and the decisions of other people.

CONCLUSION: LET YOUR WORDS CARRY WISDOM, NOT FEAR

There is a difference between a person who speaks merely to be heard and a person who speaks with purpose.

The first may depend on shouting, intimidation or endless arguments.

The second understands the value of preparation, truth, patience and self-control.

The Commanding Tongue Powder offers a symbolic way to remember these principles through natural herbs and intentional practice.

May your words bring understanding where there is confusion, courage where there is fear, and peace where there is unnecessary conflict.

Remember: The most commanding tongue is not the one that silences everybody else. It is the one that knows what to say, when to say it and how to say it with wisdom.
